Description
JA 114 is the first monograph devoted to architect Hiroshi Nakamura, and features 31 architectural works created since the founding of Hiroshi Nakamura & NAP in 2002.
The practice has designed buildings of varying scales and types, from residences to cemeteries, churches, and other public facilities. Its varied use of structure, material, as well as details—always project-specific— often result in eclectic architectural conditions that prioritize affecting the behaviors and emotions of their inhabitants. By presenting Hiroshi Nakamura’s works over the last 17 years in chronological order, this issue maps how the practice has repeatedly evolved to meet numerous architectural challenges.
