Description

C3 442 presents nine projects from Korea and abroad that reveal how architecture engages landscape, memory, materiality, and urban transformation. The issue explores architecture’s capacity to respond to natural systems, preserve cultural narratives, and generate meaningful spatial experiences. Among other projects, the Brumadinho Memorial examine vernacular craft, material expression, and collective remembrance. In K-Projects, REST by Pezo von Ellrichshausen, Cultural Center Hodu, and Intaglio investigate architecture’s relationship with topography through restraint, preservation, and spatial depth. The Urban Gaps, Small Buildings section highlights three compact interventions that transform challenging sites into distinctive urban experiences, demonstrating the enduring potential of small-scale architecture.
