Description

For architects, designing adaptive reuse projects for buildings originally constructed for religious purposes is a challenging task. Different approaches to transforming historic structures often spark intense debate. The three projects examined in this issue’s special feature on the future of preservation illustrate different interpretations of the principles set forth in the Charter of Krakow (2000), a document aimed at establishing common ground. In addition, the magazine zooms in on Max Núñez Arquitectos through an interview with the architect and selected projects, including the Hogar Alemán Elderly Care Home and MUSEAT Atacama Regional Museum, both in Chile.
