Description
Must we continually look to the new as a way to resolve pressing issues in architecture and urbanism? The forms of sustainable architecture and buildings are not always simply utilitarian, but retain cultural meanings and associations dating back millennia that may transcend the mere necessities of material conditions. This edition explores modern, sustainable place-making in terms of “an ecology of living”. Featured among twelve recent projects are the Assen Environmental Education Centre by 24H Architecture, Naman Pure Spa in Vietnam by MIA Design Studio, Uppgrenna Nature House in Sweden, and an equestrian centre in Barcelona by Vicenç Sarrablo + Jaume Colom.
