Description
Hybrid works of architecture and nature are on the rise, as designers attempt to re-establish the terms of a long-neglected and embattled symbiosis, the legacy of the industrial age. Buildings today utilise nature in fusion with man-made technologies, creating self-sustaining habitats, climate regenerators, and minimal energy footprints. Featured are Vertical Forest by Boeri Studio, 25 Green by Luciano Pia, and Chartier Dalix Architects’ Primary School for Sciences and Biodiversity. Also in this issue, works that deal with the public implications of architecture and the way it shapes the physical aspects of public life, from theatres, concert halls, and cultural centres, to city gates.
