Description

The ‘Dossier’ is devoted to E2A, the Zurich-based studio directed by brothers Piet and Wim Eckert. Their architecture, of pure geometries and even rhythms, seeks offering answers to real problems and also proposes ideal abstract models. The next section covers the design and construction process of the chapel by Norman Foster for the pavilion of the Holy See at the Venice Architecture Biennale. The ‘construction’ chapter focuses this time on brick, used both for envelopes and for claddings and finishes, through a selection of nine projects that show the material’s adaptability to different forms and levels of permeability.
