This volume, the sixth in the series of books and exhibitions entitled 20th – Century Architecture in Greece, providing a comprehensive documentation of its development since the beginning of this century. Chronological and thematic essays whiten by Greek architectural historians and critics give an authoritative account of the background and the specific characteristics of Greek architecture, as well as of its relationship to international movements. Another section focuses on specific projects and illustrates 113 buildings, both historical and contemporary, with plans and photographs accompanied by short project descriptions. These buildings were selected so as to represent all major trends and to reflect so as possible the expressive character of Greek architecture.
