Critical regionalism gained global recognition in the 1980s for integrating local sensibilities into modern architecture. While many practitioners began creating “placeless” buildings worldwide, Greek architect Aris Konstantinidis (1913–1993) took a different path. Less known internationally, he shared his vision of regional modernism on his own terms, through publishing and teaching beyond Greece’s borders.
