The thirteenth annual lecture was delivered in April 1997 by Slobodan Curcic, professor of archaeology and history of architecture at Princeton University. Professor Curcic discusses the distinctive features of Cypriot Middle Byzantine architecture and its relationship with “mainstream” developments in Byzantine architecture in an attempt to challenge its characterization as “provincial”.
