Description
Founded in 1900, the Nikkei Sekkei group is an organisational design firm responsible for numerous building and urban design projects in Japan. One standout aspect over the years has been the floor and layout plans the firm has conceived. The designers stress the importance of such plans as a design tool that can be used to explore not only the client’s needs but also what might benefit society. Over more than a century, this attitude has been passed on from one generation of designers to the next. Highlights of the issue include the Osaka Bar Association Building, Tokyo Skytree, Tokyu Plaza Ginza, Miyashita Park, The Ritz-Carlton Kyoto, and Hoki Museum.
