The young Lucas grew up and was nurtured in this environment as an apprentice to his master-builder relatives….. So, he went on to study Architecture at the Boston Architectural College (BAC) in 1920-26 and then practiced as an architect in various parts of New Jersey in the USA.

He returned to and was-patriated in Cyprus at the end of 1932 and founded a large architectural practice. Hadjilucas’ work is vast and constitutes a creative synthesis of Cypriot building art and tradition, with influences from the architecture of New England, USA and European early Modernism.
