AV 283 : Bruther, Technical Culture

Description

Bruther (Stéphanie Bru and Alexandre Theriot) emerged from a frugal France that, after the Great Recession, was demanding in its approaches and austere in its means. The distinctiveness of their buildings has remained unchanged, largely thanks to exposed installations, ingenious furniture, and sparse use of colour textiles. Bruther combines culture and technique, without compromising its environmental awareness. This issue features fifteen works, from an early proposal for a low-carbon house, through key works such as the multipurpose buildings in Saint-Blaise and Caen and the residences in Paris and Palaiseau, and culminating with their latest projects, like Frame media centre in Brussels.
