Description

Twenty-five inventive public space projects that are located in urban gaps and which have become, in the words of Xavier González, ‘venues for marginal or spontaneous practices’ are examined here. Sites and spaces include: the ‘Ost Strand’ in Berlin, ‘Prag’s Boulevard’ in Copenhagen, Fancisco Aires Mateus’ ‘Auto-silo das portas do sol’ in Lisbon and five projects in Shenzhen, China. Projects are accompanied by plans, diagrams, elevations and details.
