Description
The Conservatorium of Amsterdam recently relocated into a new building situated on the banks of the IJ river. The building, intelligently designed by Frits van Dongen with a clear concern for acoustics, houses large and small rehearsal rooms, performance halls, classrooms, and both a library and canteen. This monograph explores both the architectural design and specific musical uses of the building through photographs, plans, drawings and a number of explanatory texts.
