Description
The second part in the Urban Fascicles Series, Human Settlements provides a deep exploration of the architectural, town and urban planning aspects of human settlements. Both historical examples from 1960–1980 and contemporary examples post-1990, are analysed. Examples have been drawn from all over the world and include: the KTT Housing project in Hanoi; the Candillis plan, Chad; Sri Lankan villages that have arisen in the aftermath of the Tsunami; Nahr el Baret – a Palestinian refugee camp in Lebanon; and, the Favela Barrio in Rio de Janeiro.
Contributors for UFO2 include: Ahmed Zaib Khan Mahsud, Herman Hertzberger, Benoit Legrand, Shigeru Ban and Ismae’l Sheikh Hasan.
